In 2012, the Town of Truckee adopted the updated Truckee Trails and Bikeways Master Plan, which provides detailed guidelines for the development of over 130 miles of trails and bikeways within the Town. The plan identifies the Truckee River Legacy Trail as a high priority trail. When complete, the Truckee River Legacy Trail will connect the Donner Memorial State Park to the Glenshire neighborhood. The majority of the route will parallel the Truckee River.

Sage Land Surveying Inc was retained by the Town of Truckee to provide as-built locations of the Truckee River Legacy Trail to prepare final easement descriptions for Phase 1, Phase 3a & 3b.
